Rooted In Her Own Light

Such an honor (and surprise) to be awarded 1st Place for my mixed media lady ‘Rooted In Her Light’ at Sandwich Arts Alliance’s ‘Women in the Arts’ exhibit.

“Rooted In Her Light”
With eyes gently closed, she turns inward, resting in a quiet world of her own making. Layers of color, pattern, and memory surround her like whispered stories, fragments of life woven softly together. From her heart rises a delicate flowering—an emblem of feeling, resilience, and the quiet strength that grows unseen.

Her stillness is not silence, but listening: to the pulse of memory, to the tenderness of being, to the quiet power carried within. Adorned with a single bloom, she becomes both woman and garden, a figure rooted in reflection yet alive with gentle possibility.

In this moment, she reminds us that within every heart lies a landscape—layered, delicate, and endlessly unfolding.
