Day 6 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days ! – ‘Mum’s Loughrigg’

My beautiful mum passed away in 1996 at the age of 60 from ALS.  There are not enough words to describe her… her love, kindness, strength, courage, positive attitude and a desire to make the world a better place.  She loved the Lake District and knew each of the mountains intimately.  Some of my best childhood memories are being with her, my sister and brother, on long 10 mile hikes, inhaling the stunning vistas of Coniston, Windermere, Derwentwater, Buttermere and so many more. Her favorite picnic spot was Loughrigg Fell near Ambleside…. we would sit up there and put the world to right 🙂 Her ashes are scattered right at the top of Loughrigg … it’s a magnificent place, one I can’t wait to get back to soon 🙂

Day 2 – Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days Challenge

Day 2

I am blessed to live in a wonderful warm and friendly neighborhood. I’m especially blessed to be able to sit at the corner of three properties under a beautiful Maple Tree – now christened “Maple Café” – a gathering place for all –created by my wonderful neighbor and friend Sheila. Just to the right of this beauty spot is a garden, named “Phil’s Peace Garden” – created and tended to lovingly by Sheila in memory of her wonderful brother Phil.

I dedicate this painting to Phil and all his wonderful gifts he shared with the world and to Sheila for her love and care of his life and memory.

Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days Challenge

I am excited to be joining Leslie Saeta and artists from all over the world in Leslie’s Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days Challenge !  If you are an artist and wish to join over 400 other artists, please visit Leslie’s blog at:-

http://30paintingsin30days.weebly.com/

The theme will be “Thirty Things You Didn’t Know About Me” ! 🙂

As Leslie explains :”It’s about getting in to the studio to try new things. It’s about painting more often. It’s about having fun and developing new habits! This challenge has changed the lives of many artists and I hope you you will experience the same! It’s important to remember you are not doing this challenge alone. There will most likely be over 400 artists (all over the world) doing the same thing as you every day in September. So let’s share and support each other”.

I’m ready ! 🙂
