My beautiful mum passed away in 1996 at the age of 60 from ALS.  There are not enough words to describe her… her love, kindness, strength, courage, positive attitude and a desire to make the world a better place.  She loved the Lake District and knew each of the mountains intimately.  Some of my best childhood memories are being with her, my sister and brother, on long 10 mile hikes, inhaling the stunning vistas of Coniston, Windermere, Derwentwater, Buttermere and so many more. Her favorite picnic spot was Loughrigg Fell near Ambleside…. we would sit up there and put the world to right 🙂 Her ashes are scattered right at the top of Loughrigg … it’s a magnificent place, one I can’t wait to get back to soon 🙂

For 16 years I reigned as the Queen of scrabble in my family ! Still one of my favorite board games 🙂

I am so blessed to be the Grandma of my little pink princess Apria. This is the first portrait I have attempted ! She is pictured here with my dog Archie, wearing a necklace we made together 🙂

Day 2

I am blessed to live in a wonderful warm and friendly neighborhood. I’m especially blessed to be able to sit at the corner of three properties under a beautiful Maple Tree – now christened “Maple Café” – a gathering place for all –created by my wonderful neighbor and friend Sheila. Just to the right of this beauty spot is a garden, named “Phil’s Peace Garden” – created and tended to lovingly by Sheila in memory of her wonderful brother Phil.

I dedicate this painting to Phil and all his wonderful gifts he shared with the world and to Sheila for her love and care of his life and memory.

Day One – Cranes Beach, Ipswich, Massachusetts

This piece is “Cranes Beach” – my favorite happy place where I have spent countless hours walking miles of its beautiful shoreline ! Size 8 x 10 : Acrylic and Ink.
