URBAN RUMBLE
We recently experienced one of the world’s worst violent massacres in the small town of Sandy Hook, CT. My granddaughter lives in neighboring Newtown and I know the area and many of the people there well. It is sometimes hard for me to articulate with words what I am feeling. Urban Rumble was inspired by the events that transpired at Sandy Hook, my beliefs that there are cracks in our society, core values and foundations have been shaken and there is much distress and unease in the world. There was no pre-meditative planning for this painting, rather a spontaneous expression of the feelings within me. This is a painting I love and have enjoyed the many conversations and questions it provokes with the viewer.

  1. Thanks for your comments about your Urban Rumble piece. My heart has gone out to all affected by the tragedy. Your piece is quite expressive of our issues. Thank you. Marilyn
